A little more about me

I grew up in India and immigrated to the United States, along with my four year old son and my husband, in 1996.

When my son graduated high school, I pivoted from a career in accounting to a career in education (my true passion). I earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education at California State University East Bay, and obtained a teacher’s credential at Notre Dame de Namur University.

In 2015, I was introduced to the art of mindfulness by way of a 10 day silent vipassana retreat. This practice reframed much of my suffering and helped me find inner peace and joy. I’ve since gone onto get a certification in MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction), offering a seminar in local community college.

I teach mindfulness classes at Palo Alto Medical Foundation, UCSF, Riekes Center for Human Enhancement.
